What do we do when we come up against bigger and better German tanks? We gang up on 'em, is what we do. We've got more tanks than we have crews to man 'em, and all the ammo we can shoot. Jerry is always undersupplied. If we can't gang up, then we high-tail it out of there and call in arty or air. No sense in being stupid.

The rumor mill said that the Sherman was equipped with a new gun stabilizer that could keep the elevation level while the tank was moving. Either this device did not work as expected or it was pure fiction, since every Sherman I saw in action fired its main gun while standing still.
